OUR VISION

In spite of richness in natural ressources, history, culture and tourism potentials, Mafia Island still receives a very small number of tourists per year compared to other islands such as Zanzibar and the Maldives.
For instance Maldives (297.8 square kilometers), an island which is almost half the size of Mafia (435 square kilometers). 

Whereas in 2019 Maldives received 1.7 million tourists earning a revenue of USD 3.17 billion (Tsh. 7.39 trillion), 

in contrast, Mafia island received less than ten thousand visitors who spent less USD one million.

(3.000 times less..) The revenues that Maldives earn from tourism was enough to
finance 21%(!) of the entire budget of Tanzania in 2021/2022.

With the vieuw of Tanzania government to boost devellopment of the island we have come up with an additional purpose of the Company.
